Jan Crossen releases two new books

Lopez children’s author Jan Crossen has released two more books in his Farm Adventures series for readers ages 6 and up.
His book, White Lightning, is about a lonely, angry horse that needs a second chance. The book gives information about horses and life on the farm. It also introduces the reader to natural riding as a way to interact with horses. “Horses communicate with each other through body language,” Crossen said. “Natural riding is a gentle, non-rough method of working with a horse. It’s a great way to build trust and partnership.
Her second book, Chick-a-dee-doo-dah, recounts a young girl’s memory of a special time she shared with her grandfather at his chicken farm. It’s a sweet story of family and staying connected to our roots. “I wrote Chick-a-dee-doo-dah to provide educational information about chickens,” said Crossen, who owns a flock of Bantam chickens. “I also wanted parents to realize the profound impact an experience can have on a young child. I hope to reinforce the important role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren. This book contains a fun little song that is sung to the Disney tune Zip-a-dee-doo-dah that many grandparents may remember from their childhood.
Jan’s books are available at Lopez Bookstore and on Amazon.
