Amber Heard Accused of Copying Johnny Depp’s Courtroom Styles: ‘Mind Games’

Looks like she took “libel suit” literally.

As Johnny Depp’s libel lawsuit against Amber Heard heats up, social media fashion police accuse Depp’s former flame of employing an unorthodox courtroom strategy: copying his ex’s outfits to try to get inside his head. Tweets detailing this alleged act of war-drobe are currently going viral.

“Amber Heard is playing mind games with Johnny Depp by copying his outfits in court,” a watcher alleged on Twitter Thursday.

The supposed sartorial psyche comes as Heard, 36, and Depp, 58 – who were married from 2015 to 2017 – fight in court to determine whether the latter was defamed by Heard’s Washington Post essay in 2018 in which she accused the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star of child abuse.

Depp, who has vehemently denied the allegations, is seeking at least $50 million in compensation. He is also after $350,000 in punitive damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and court costs, according to the Daily Mail.

With every aspect of the trial under a microscope, social media sleuths couldn’t help but notice that Heard’s courtroom attire bore an uncanny resemblance to that of the “Finding Neverland” actor.

“I watched Johnny Depp’s trial and noticed Amber Heard reflected it through outfits,” wrote an eagle-eyed Twitter juror of the “scary” copycat stitching of the old “Aquaman”. “When Johnny wore a gray suit… the next day she wore the same thing. Then he wore a Gucci ensemble, and then she wore it the next day.

They were referring to when Depp showed up on the first day of the trial on April 11 in a gray suit and Gucci tie with a bee lapel. The next day, Heard was seen wearing an almost identically colored outfit at the courthouse, and on April 13, she donned a similar tie and bee ball.

The actress “followed on again” on April 19 after rocking a ponytail similar to the one her former flame had worn the day before.

Online fashionistas have even uploaded TikTok videos juxtaposing the dueling exes’ outfits in a series of stills.

“Yesterday was the day Twitter went crazy over Johnny Depp’s ponytail,” user @delloliod said in a TikTok video from two days ago, which has over 10 million views. “She walked into court today with that ponytail on her head.”

Earlier this week, observers noted that Johnny Depp showed up in court wearing a ponytail.

The Peanut Gallery Twitter agreed that Heard’s outfits were no coincidence.

“Will someone explain why Amber imitates Johnny’s outfits every day”, wrote a dismayed user. “This woman is SICK in the head.”

Another wise commenter wrote: “I know it was a few days ago now, but can we talk about the fact that Amber Heard intentionally recreated Johnny Depp’s court outfits multiple times… Doesn’t that scream you of emotional abuse? As if the man was literally in court and she was still laughing at him.

A the armchair lawyer claimed that Heard was “Reflecting all of Johnny Depp’s outfits in a continued attempt to torment his victim,” adding that they “didn’t think she could be any more vile.”

Some found Heard’s fashion choices particularly infuriating, as the “Justice League” actress allegedly poked fun at Depp’s sense of style, according to her sister Christi Dombrowski’s testimony.

“Johnny told Amber that I had just had a meeting with Dior and that they were interested in him,” the brother had said, according to the Daily Mail. “Her reaction to that was that she was in disbelief and kind of disgusted because she said, ‘Dior – why would Dior want to do business with you? They talk about class and style and you have no style. “

The ex-husband’s cosplay was far from the most heinous allegations that surfaced during the hearings.

Lawyers for Heard, who are seeking $100 million from Depp for abuse and other damages, presented a series of embarrassing images on Thursday, including a photo of the actor with spilled ice cream on his lap and a video of him raging in a kitchen.

The most provocative photo, from 2013, might have been a scene from ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ – it appeared to show a glass of whisky, lines of cocaine, other drug paraphernalia and a Keith Richards CD laid out on a glass table.

The team submitted the humiliating photos as evidence in their case that Depp physically and sexually assaulted Heard while abusing drugs and alcohol. Her legal team also claimed that Depp’s legal team falsely accused her of fabricating the allegations against the “Donnie Brasco” actor.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Depp – who claimed his former pressure was the aggressor in their relationship – testified to a brutal fight with Heard that left her fingertip severed. Accompanying photos of the horrific injury shown in court drew “ews” and an “ew, yuck” from onlookers.
